Chaperones/Licences
Strict regulations apply to children working in the entertainment industry. These cover areas including the maximum number of performance hours per day / week, rest times, meal times and tutoring requirements. When any child under the age of 16 performs in a professional capacity, the Production Company must obtain a Child Performance Licence from the child’s Local Education Authority
Child Artists must also be accompanied by a chaperone at all times when they are working. Registered chaperones are used instead of parents as they have a better understanding of the employment regulations involved and they have professional experience of dealing with production companies. Registered chaperones have been police checked and approved by their local education authority.
Usually our chaperones are people whose children attended either the school or agency, teach or currently work for Jackie Palmer, therefore they have a total understanding of how the children may feel whilst working away from home.
